LED Recessed and Under-Cabinet Kitchen Lighting Upgrade

LED Recessed and Under-Cabinet Kitchen Lighting Upgrade image

Lighting is one of those things you don't think about until it's wrong. Older fluorescent recessed fixtures tend to cast a flat, yellowish glow that makes even a nice kitchen feel dated and dull. That's exactly the situation we walked into here.

We swapped out the old fluorescent recessed cans and under-cabinet fixtures for new LED lights throughout the kitchen. The difference is immediately noticeable. The LEDs produce a cleaner, more natural light that actually lets you see what you're working with - whether that's reading a recipe or prepping food on the counter.

Under-cabinet lighting is easy to overlook, but it's one of the hardest-working upgrades in a kitchen. It eliminates shadows on your countertop workspace and adds a layer of warmth that makes the whole room feel more finished. Pair that with updated recessed LEDs overhead, and you've got a completely different atmosphere without touching a single cabinet or countertop.

Beyond the look, LEDs draw significantly less power than older fluorescent bulbs and last much longer. So this kind of small electrical upgrade pays for itself over time - in both energy savings and the cost of replacing bulbs constantly. It's a practical improvement that also happens to look great.

We handle this type of kitchen upgrade regularly, and it fits right in with the broader kitchen remodeling work we do. Sometimes a full renovation isn't what the space needs. Sometimes it just needs the right light.
