Commercial Electrical Service Upgrade from 100 to 200 Amp

This one had some red flags right from the start. When we opened things up, we found a damaged test block and a service that was simply too small for the demands being put on it. A 100 amp service sounds like enough - until it isn't. For a commercial building with real day-to-day power needs, it's a liability waiting to turn into a problem.

A damaged test block isn't something you patch and move on from. It's a sign that the system has been under stress, and in a commercial setting, that stress doesn't go away on its own. We pulled everything out and started fresh with a proper 200 amp service that's built to handle the load.

The before tells the whole story. The wiring was congested, the enclosure was worn, and the test block damage made the whole setup unreliable. After the upgrade, the panel is clean, organized, and correctly rated for the building. Every circuit is labeled, the breakers are properly seated, and the service equipment is solid.

A lot of commercial buildings are still running on undersized services that made sense decades ago but don't cut it anymore. More equipment, more demand, and older infrastructure is a combination that creates real risk. Upgrading the service isn't just about adding capacity - it's about making sure the foundation of your building's electrical system is actually up to the job.
